Dr. Bill Hardgrave
The University of Memphis Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Bill Hardgrave as the 13th President on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, and he began his tenure on April 1, 2022. Previously, Dr. Hardgrave served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Auburn University since January 2018.

University of Memphis Receives $1.1 Million to Support TRIO Programs
The U.S. Department of Education has renewed and expanded funding for the University of Memphis’ TRIO programs, awarding a total of $1.1 million to continue helping first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities succeed in college.
Since 2005, more than 5,000 UofM students have benefited from tutoring, financial aid guidance, career exploration, counseling and mentoring services offered by TRIO — support that helps them stay in school, graduate and launch meaningful careers.

University of Memphis Earns Military Friendly Gold and Spouse Designations
The University of Memphis has once again been recognized as a top institution for military-connected students, earning the Military Friendly Gold designation and also, for the first time, the Military Friendly Spouse School designation. Military Friendly is regarded as the benchmark for evaluating how higher education institutions, employers and organizations serve the military community.
